The Great Smoky Mountain Wheel is quite an Icon in the Pigeon Forge area!   It's a beautiful sight with over one-million colorful LED lights that creates a spectacular light show both day and night!  It towers high over "The Island" which is an attraction filled with children's amusement rides, great shopping, live music, restaurants, hotels, and more.  Standing at approximately 20 stories, the Great Smoky Mountain Wheel is one of the most popular attractions in the East Tennessee area and offers amazing views of the Great Smoky Mountains.

Taking a ride on this fabulous wheel is a "must" thing-to-do while vacationing in the area!  You'll board one of forty-one all-glass white gondolas.  And you'll probably notice the one black gondola which is designed especially for VIP's!  It features seating for 4 people and offers all-leather bucket seats and has a glass bottom floor.  All other gondolas seat up to six people!  A total of 340 people can ride this huge wheel at one time!  One of the "snazziest" features on the Great Smoky Mountain Wheel is that each of the gondolas are climate-controlled.  In other words, you'll enjoy a nice warm ride in the winter, and a cool air conditioned ride in the summer!  It's a perfect way to relax, take photos, and enjoy the beauty of the mountains while you're being turned by four 200-horse power motors gliding up to a restful 12 miles-per-hour.
